Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation (PCTO)

The DSC offers educational programs as part of the Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation (PCTO), specifically designed for high school students. These programs aim to develop both practical and theoretical skills through hands-on laboratory work, seminars, and meetings with industry experts. Activities are tailored to meet the specific needs of each school, providing high-quality educational experiences.

OUI Project – Individual University Guidance

The OUI Project – "Ovunque da qui" (Anywhere from here) is an initiative by the University of Catania, funded by the Ministry of University and Research under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The project offers active orientation courses to support the transition from high school to university, involving over 8,000 high school students. The DSC actively contributes to the OUI Project through:

• Disciplinary laboratories: Offering hands-on chemistry activities for high school students.
• Specialized guidance: Providing detailed information on chemistry degree programs and career opportunities in the field.
• Orientamento specialistico: Fornendo informazioni sui corsi di laurea in chimica e sulle opportunità professionali nel settore.​

Career Guidance Fair

The Career Guidance Fair is an annual event organized by the University of Catania for high school students and recent graduates who are interested in starting a university program. During the event, participants can visit information booths and speak with professors and tutors from the DSC, take part in OUI Project labs, explore the university’s services and financial aid options, and attend themed workshops and special events.
