Nature as model: learning how to read molecular and supramolecular instructions (DNA, proteins). Relationship between structure (primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary) and function. Allosterism. Hierarchy of self-assembly and kinetic inertness: thermodynamic and kinetics at work.
Nature of noncovalent interactions. The role of solvent: solubility vs. solvophobicity.
Host-guest chemistry, Self-assembly, supramolecular stereochemistry. Chirality and chiral memory.
Nanomedicine, sensors, switches.
